KPC has a long and very exciting history in industrial knitting for many years but this month, they will be launching a brand new range of hand knit yarns. And take if from me, you will want to get your hands on these!
Unlike other large yarn companies, KPC is very community as well as environmentally driven. They are proud to have full traceability on all the raw materials right down the sheep in New Zealand. How many other companies can say that. The full range will include merino, cotton and cashmere in a range of delectable colours sure to please even the pickiest of crafter. The balls are tied with a ribbon - very handy to keep your ball intact when in storage - and comes with a tag with all the necessary information. The KPC logo idea came from the traditional chinese chop or seal, round in shape with loops of yarn on the inside. And KPC? Knit, purl, crochet of course!
KPC were kind enough to involve the local knitting and crochet community in focus groups and test knitting to help test and fine-tune their range and colours.
I never thought whittling 144 beautiful colours down to 60 could be so difficult! What to choose! All those colours!

And not to mention the types – incredibly soft ultra fine merino, luxurious cashmere, a merino/ cotton blend that you want to dive into. After all the hard work, testing, selecting, planning and consideration, the day has finally arrived!
KPC will be launching the new range this weekend at Handmade Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay market this coming Sunday 11 May 2014. Everyone has been working very hard behind the scenes to get everything ready and excitement is running high! A range of the yarns will be available for purchase and I guarantee that you will fall in love. We won’t blame you if a ball or three mysteriously make it home!
