We participated in a sponsored charity event this past January.
The event was held with HKMSSA, the Hong Kong Movie Star Sports Association at their Shek Kip Mei Ancillary Facilities block.
HKMSSA aims to provide charity and support services to Hong Kong’s rapidly aging population by encouraging community services.
At the event, over 100 volunteers including adults and children join KPC Yarn to make their very own pompom decorated sheep. All the yarn and materials were sponsored by KPC Yarn and we had a blast at the event, playing with yarn and making pompoms!
In total, 39 sheep were made to coincide with Novetex, our parent company’s 39th birthday. The sheep will be sold for a good cause during the HKMSSA Chinese New Year dinner on February the 8th.
In addition, HKMSSA will also knit and distribute 3,000 scarves to the elderly and those in need and they will be handed out during the dinner as well.
We want to give a big shout out to all the volunteers who helped turn our sheep from drab to FAB, one pompom at a time!
We are very honoured and humbled to be able to join and sponsor projects that support the local Hong Kong community and hope to do many more meaningful events this year.
